Apparently, my first real word was "go", simply because I heard my father yelling it at the television during Browns games. Not related to that whatsoever are these logo options, for a upstart group in Cleveland called Generation Opera, or GO! for short. Generation Opera is a group of like-minded young people brought together by their interest in Opera Cleveland. These folks are putting their collective heads together to re-ignite enthusiasm among their peers in the opera, and are planning on doing so via socializing and networking opportunities. Think fun, arts, culture, a night out, passion, "jeans and black tie". Here's where I took it:
The top two options play upon the operatic stereotype of the "fat lady in viking helmet" and "singer shattering a wine glass". I used DIN to complement the visual puns, as it is one of my favorite typefaces and lends a nice, modern edge to the marks. For the third option, I wanted to impart both a sense of motion and dimensionality to the "GO!" portion, as it was important for me to express the action found at a performance. Beneath the "block" of the third option is "Generation Opera" set in another of my favorites, FF Zapata.
